Close Look at the Large Hardron Collider

September 14, 2008

The biggest news in physics community is the successful launch of Large Hardron Collider (LHC) in Europe on Sep. 10, 2008.

New York Times presents an interactive graphics for a close look at the detectors in LHC. I always like their presentations; very informative.

  • Guide to the large Hardron Collider (BBC News): Under the quide, you can watch a short introduction video. They also do a very good job in explaing the experiments to the public.
  • LHC Homepage (CERN.ch): uh.. a little bit boring. The UK site looks prettier and you can find more “friendly” information about LHC and the physics behind these experiements. Here is the US site.
