France Won World Cup of Baking

April 3, 2008

(from WSJ)

France won the first prize at the contest, Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, in Paris on Wed. Well, considering that this is a French bread-baking contest, what’s a big deal? Yes, it is, since they finally get back the gold medal after 12 years.

The Wall Street Journal covered the story, “Baking World Cup: Can France Rise to the Occasion?“, prior to the contest, where you can also watch a short video. In the following article, it reported the contest result. More surprisingly, Taiwan took second, and Italy finished third. No medal for American team, nor for Japanese.

What a surprise. 😮
