Free Windows File Tools

tags: ,

Gina at Lifehacker lists ten free Windows file utility tools, which can make your work in file manipulation more efficient. The list includes softwares for backing up and synchronizing data, deleting and restoring files, comparing and merge files, and encrypting files/drives etc

I have noticed the tools for backup and synchronization, thinking about trying them. As for encryption, I talked about TrueCrypt before and use it in my PC and USB thumb drives.

    Hi
Quick question for uou. I have a variety of usb pen drives, some 2 gig, some 4 gig, and many of them come with software on board that’s a nuisance. Is there software I can use to remove this extra rubbish? I’ve been looking all over the web with no success. So far only found questionable software that sounds like it could harbor viruses.

Hello, I guess these softwares are U3 Smart Sofwares. If they are, please check this discussion.

If not, you can still plug your USB pen drive into a Mac or Linux machine and delete all the stuffs or format the disk (in FAT format). Backup your files first thought.
