GMail for Universities
June 13, 2007

In this news story, “Google’s e-mail for universities” (6/11/2007, BBC) , it said that many universities have switched to GMail instead of their own mail servers. Examples including Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, Arizona State University in US, Linköpings university in Sweden, and some universities in Africa. Certainly this approach can help the universities reduce its IT cost and students will be happy that they don’t have to switch the email address after leaving the campus.
As Google becomes bigger and bigger and even indispensable in our daily life, some group may start to question about privacy and monopoly.
